My name is Stephen. Although I have been fascinated by Space since I was little, it’s only well after I started working that I was able to consider investing in some equipment. Before I took the plunge and buy my first pieces of gear, I literally spent a couple of years reading about techniques, OTAs, mounts, cameras while occasionally observing with a pair of binocular and taking pictures with a wide field lens on a fixed tripod when I had the chance to go camping in the Sierra Nevada.
I’ve also been working as Mechanical and Thermal Engineer for the PC cooling industry for several years which made me well used to the Mechanics behind Microchips Thermal Management. Combining all this naturally brought me to designing and building DSLR cooling systems. DSLR cooling systems have been around for a few years now, what you’ll find on this topic on Cooledpix.com is not exceptional, it is just my contribution to the DSLR Astrophotography community.
As I evolve through this hobby, I realize that being able to combine my passion for Astronomy and Mechanical Design is actually very, very fruitful. I have literally tons of projects that I’d love to see come to life.
