M42 – The Great Orion Nebula

09/30/2011. After shooting M45 – The Pleiades for about 2 hours I moved to M42 – The Great Orion Nebula for about 2 hours also. The core is very, very bright and decided to scale down my exposures from 60 s to 300 s. I wonder if an even wider range of exposure could have helped gathered more data especially in the core and in the area surrounding the nebula. I used the same blending technique I had used with M32 – The Andromeda Galaxy.
